Effective stakeholder engagement

Recommendations to Airbus on adopting a new strategy of supply chain collaboration came from effective engagement with all relevant external and internal stakeholders to identify major issues and areas of improvement.

Airbus has adopted a new strategy of integrator with key ‘Risk Sharing Partners’ taking responsibility for producing the main parts of the aircraft as work packages. Therefore the effectiveness of the supply chain and the processes and tools used are crucial in ensuring this strategy works.

WeDeliverChange, working on behalf of IBM UK, undertook engagement with different internal and external stakeholder groups in ICT and Operations to determine the current effectiveness of key processes and ICT tools.

From this, engagement analysis was completed to identify the major issues and areas for improvement. Maturity models were produced representing the current status of the critical tools used by Airbus and Spirit AeroSystems, one of the top six suppliers.

A full report was produced and presentation undertaken to Airbus management describing the findings and recommendations for change.
